The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced new rules for FASTag users that will take effect on August 1, 2024. These updates aim to streamline toll payments and reduce congestion at toll plazas across the country. Here’s a breakdown of the changes and what you need to do to stay compliant.
Key Changes to FASTag Rules
1. Mandatory KYC Updates
A big change has an impact on the Know Your Customer (KYC) requirement. From August 1, all FASTag users need to update their KYC to follow the new rules from the NPCI. Users must complete this update by October 31, 2024, for FASTags that are three to five years old. If users don't do this, they might not meet the new rules.
2. Replacement of Old FASTags
